Nice stay for Fringe visit. Particularly good and marvellous location, close to shops and restaurants. Nestled not far from the centre of Edinburgh as well as Edinburgh.

Thanks a lot for amazing stay for informal and accessible holidays and close enough to the centre, Rabbie's cafe & Waverley Station and a market directly across the street. Staff is always excellent and affable.

Convenient location near an Indian restaurant made it super easy to grab some tasty food. The place was in a great spot, and I had a blast during my stay! 😊

The location is marvellous right by Edinburgh, the city center and the Old Town and city life, and the rooms are new-fashioned. Staff is always welcoming. Looking forward to my next really great stay in this apartment for informal and accessible holidays.

I was greeted very warmly by the reception staff which is a nice touch after a long journey. I did not realise that this was a type of student backpacker place. It was very quiet and clean and in a great location not too far from the city centre and half way to Leith where I was attending the Mela festival. The kitchen was well equipped with kettle, full cooker and pots and pans if you want to do your own cooking and there's a Tesco very close by.
The double bed was very small and lumpy. You could feel the springs and I would not recommend the studios for a couple as the bed is far too small for 2 people. It was lucky that it was only me staying and my partner was not able to join me as originally booked.

The studio room was reasonably comfortable but very basic.
Tv did not work. The fridge sounded like Darth Vader and housed a very hairy/mouldy frozen chip. The Booked.net pages and voucher said there was a bath, but there was not. The shower was good though. Problem with paying and card machine did not work.

Big room with kitchen and ensuite, clean, close enough to town, we were able to leave our bags there when we arrived early. Overall a good place to stay.
Iit was a bit cold in the room & the air con was a bit noisey.

I recently stayed at a great hotel in Edinburgh for the festival. The staff at McDonald Road Residence were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by plenty of food options. The room and shower were clean, and the kitchen had all the necessary appliances. Plus, they have free WiFi, not just wired internet as advertised.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Very good value during the Edinburgh Festival. Compact accommodation but ŵell fitted out with a good kitchenette and shower room. Spotlessly clean room.
Really a squeeze for two people. The bed was tiny!

I had a studio apartment which was nice and compact. Staff was helpful and listened to all demands. It is very close to the main attractions of the city and from the station.
Utensils were not cleaned properly when we checked in. There was no cleaning for the 3 nights stay we were there. Also it does not have a restaurant for anytime hunger needs.
